The Elta Multiflow SEL400/2-3PAC is a 400mm mixed flow inline duct fan with a three phase AC motor, moving up to 6919 m³/h in free air and 6545 m³/h against 200 Pa. A diagonal mixed flow impeller and 3D stator guide vanes give it high pressure from a compact circular casing.The 2 pole motor runs at 2890 rpm on a 380 to 415V 50Hz supply, absorbing 1.5 kW with a peak current of 3.2 A at 400V. Elta list this model as supplied complete with control, with electronic controller 149-FU2205 named in the datasheet. The casing is weatherproofed to IPX4 with an integral IP44 terminal box, and Elta give a 12 month warranty. 3 Phase AC Motor Up to 6919 m³/h Speed Controllable What it is best used forHigh pressure, high volume systems on 400mm duct: long commercial kitchen extract runs, sports halls, airport and retail back of house areas, factories and central supply plant with filters, heater batteries and attenuators. Its curve is very flat, holding 6545 m³/h at 200 Pa and 5735 m³/h at 500 Pa.It is a 2 pole fan absorbing 1.5 kW, rated at 67 dB(A) inlet and 72 dB(A) outlet at 3m, so it needs silencers near occupied rooms. For lower pressure duties the 4 pole SEL400/4-3PAC is quieter and uses well under half the power.Why choose this over alternativesThe 2 pole SEL400/2-3PAC is the high pressure choice on 400mm duct: 6919 m³/h free air and 5735 m³/h at 500 Pa, against 5155 and 1130 m³/h for the 4 pole SEL400/4-3PAC. The 4 pole model uses 0.628 kW instead of 1.5 kW and is 10 dB(A) quieter at the inlet, so pick it when your system pressure is under about 400 Pa.Against the EC SEL400-1PEC (7128 m³/h free air), performance is close; the EC model runs from single phase with its own controller, while this one suits a site with a three phase supply.Installation notes The fan can be mounted in any orientation. Slide it into the duct and fix it with the integral mounting bracket, making sure the ductwork is not strained, and connect duct to both inlet and outlet so no moving parts are accessible. Wire into the integral IP44 terminal box to Elta diagram 152-544 for a 400V three phase supply, with speed control through the Elta electronic controller named in the datasheet. The thermal contact must be connected to an external tripping unit. The internal thermal protection does not cover a blocked impeller, so fit a motor protection switch with thermal and magnetic release, plus a means of isolation and an earth. Use fast clamps (018-400-CLAMP) to connect to the duct, and run the airflow in the direction marked on the casing. Install indoors in a dry, condensation free space: Elta's installation manual says SEL fans must not be operated out of doors, and they are not for explosive atmospheres.
