Expert Smoothing Plane P5A

The Draper Expert Smoothing Plane is a precision woodworking tool designed for finishing and flattening timber surfaces to a professional standard. Built with a cast iron body, this 355mm smoothing plane delivers the stability and weight distribution that carpenters and joiners rely on for accurate planing work. The precision milled base and faces ensure flat, consistent contact with the workpiece, whilst the fully adjustable high carbon steel blade is hardened, tempered and fully ground for edge retention and clean cutting performance. The 50mm blade width provides good coverage for efficient stock removal on both hardwoods and softwoods. Designed for user comfort during extended use, this plane features a plastic handle and guidance knob that reduce hand fatigue whilst maintaining secure control. Ideal for smoothing door edges, preparing timber for finishing, or flattening boards after initial dimensioning, this tool suits both professional workshops and serious woodworking enthusiasts.
