Silicon is present throughout the body: bones, cartilage, blood, blood vessels, skin, and lungs. The balance of silicon in the human body is delicate: dietary intake is limited by poor absorption (bioavailability) of most intake forms, and it is permanently eliminated in the urine. (Biosavability) affects bone and bone metabolism of calcium and magnesium.
