However, they harboured drawbacks that rendered them less than ideal. Primarily, CFL bulbs contain mercury, a toxic substance detrimental to both humans and the environment, making their disposal challenging. Additionally, CFL bulbs exhibited a delay in reaching full brightness and were prone to flickering and humming, causing inconvenience and potential discomfort. In contrast, LED (light-emitting diode) bulbs eschew toxic substances and boast significantly higher energy efficiency than CFL bulbs. Instant-on functionality eliminates the warm-up time associated with CFL bulbs, while the absence of flicker and hum ensures a more pleasant and comfortable lighting experience for your home or office.LED replacement direct-to-mains push-fit bulbs epitomise the future of lighting technology, offering unmatched energy efficiency and longevity. By transitioning to LED, you can reap substantial cost savings, diminish your carbon footprint, and contribute to a more sustainable future for generations to come.Crompton Lamps LED PLL direct to mains lamps should be wired directly to mains.
