About Linoto

Linoto is a linen brand led by founder and creative director Jason Evege, who began sewing linen sheets for himself, friends and family in 2007. All of its products are cut and stitched at the company's own workshop in Westchester County, New York, and linoto.com sells to the United States, the UK and most other countries.

According to the brand's About page, Evege could not find a plain, modern set of real linen sheets for under $1,000, and European orders took 4 to 6 weeks to arrive, so he made his own. He sold more than 120 sets in his first year while working from home, and the company now reports over 10,000 orders fulfilled.

What Linoto sells

  • Sheet sets, fitted and flat sheets, pillowcases and shams in three linen ranges: Italian, certified-organic and Belgian eco-linen
  • Duvet covers, quilted coverlets, lightweight blankets and bedskirts, with custom sizes made to order
  • Linen spa towels, heavyweight bath sheets and washcloths
  • Tablecloths, napkins, fringed coasters, tea towels and helper towels for the kitchen
  • Linen boxer shorts and bars of soap

The brand says its organic range uses certified organic flax that is rinsed in filtered water with Green Shield Organic laundry soap, and that parcels leave in plastic-free recycled packaging.

Delivery and returns

Ground shipping is complimentary on orders over $100 within the contiguous United States, and the shipping page warns that expedited second-day orders cannot always be met. Deliveries to the UK and other countries are priced at checkout by postal code and parcel weight, and any import duties or local taxes fall on the buyer.

Most stock items come with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. A return authorization number has to be requested by phone or email within 15 days of delivery, and the goods must reach Linoto no later than 30 days after delivery. Return postage is refunded only for defective or damaged goods. Special orders, monogrammed or custom-sized pieces, split king sets, bedskirts, curtains and boxer shorts cannot be returned.

Linoto was founded in 2007.
