About Crown Paints
Crown Paints is a British paint manufacturer headquartered in Darwen, Lancashire, with a second base in Coolock, Dublin. The business traces its Darwen history back to 1777 and has been owned by the Danish coatings group Hempel since June 2011. Its UK online shop sells Crown and Sandtex paint direct to householders, while a separate trade site serves professional decorators.
What Crown Paints sells
- Walls and ceilings emulsion in matt and silk, made with the Breatheasy formula that Crown describes as 99% solvent free
- easyclean, a wipeable multi-surface range for kitchens, bathrooms, wood and metal that Crown rates as 200 times tougher than standard emulsion
- CRAFTED flat matt, textured and metallic finishes for walls, ceilings and woodwork
- Sandtex exterior masonry paint, which the brand says can protect walls for 15 years, plus wood and metal paints, primers and undercoats
- 40ml Matchpot tester pots, A5 peel-and-stick colour samples, brushes and rollers
Shades can be browsed by colour family, by room and by decorating style, and the site provides a downloadable colour chart, safety data sheets and a stockist finder. Crown has publicly committed to reaching net zero emissions by 2050.
