The Hip Store (HIP) was founded in Leeds in 1987 by Everton Campbell when he was just 18 years old, becoming a cornerstone of the UK's contemporary fashion scene. Built on curation, HIP introduces audiences to style profiles, craftsmanship, and unique storytelling from brands around the world. Around 1990, Hip was also a clothing label, using Leeds' textile heritage – David Bowie and Paul Weller wore their suits. Today HIP operates stores in Leeds city centre and Manchester's Northern Quarter alongside their online presence. JD Sports acquired part ownership in May 2014. They carry streetwear, heritage, contemporary, and technical brands including Yeezy, Nike, New Balance, adidas, Clarks, and Asics.
