Cloud Nine is a British maker of hair straighteners, dryers and wands, founded in 2009 and based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire (company number 07079855). Its story begins with Susan Powls, who the brand says came across a new ceramic styling technology in 1999, a decade before Cloud Nine launched its own tools.

What Cloud Nine sells

• Straighteners: the Original Iron, Wide Iron, Slim Iron, Touch Iron, Cordless Iron and Contouring versions of the Original and Wide Irons
• Hair dryers from the Airshot family, including the Airshot Pro, Airshot Pro Adapt and Airshot Pro Mini
• Curling and waving wands and hot air brushes
• Brushes, heat-protection and treatment products, styling sets, refurbished tools and a straightener repair service

According to Cloud Nine, its irons have 11 heat settings between 100 and 200°C, and the brand cites more than 350 awards won worldwide. It also says its tools carry MTick certification and that it was the first styling tool brand to join the GenM Collective.

Tools bought from cloudninehair.com are registered automatically for a 3-year extended warranty, except the Airshot Pro (2 years) and the Cordless Iron and Airshot (1 year). Tools bought from retailers such as Boots, Amazon or Argos need registering within 14 days of purchase.

Delivery and returns

Standard UK delivery is free on orders over £60 and arrives in 1 to 3 working days. Next-day delivery to mainland UK is also free over £60 when ordered by 8pm, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays. Orders can instead go to one of more than 6,500 DPD pickup points, where parcels are held for 7 days. Some Highland, island and Northern Ireland postcodes need 48 hours, and Republic of Ireland delivery costs £12.00 and takes 3 to 5 business days. Liquid products ship only within the UK, and there is no delivery to the US or Canada.

Styling tools can be returned within 45 days of purchase in resaleable condition for a full refund less a £5.99 postage charge, using a prepaid label; proof of postage should be kept. Refunds take up to 14 working days after the returns department receives the item, and warranty claims take 7 to 10 working days.
