RareVinyl.com is a UK vinyl records retailer founded in 1985 by Robert, Julian, and Cathryn – three childhood friends who grew up with a passion for late '70s and early '80s music. Their hobby transformed into a business called 'Esprit', becoming the largest advertiser in Record Collector Magazine throughout the late '80s and '90s. They launched their first online store on Compuserve, then eil.com (Esprit International Limited), before launching RareVinyl.com on Shopify in 2022 with an improved mobile experience. Based in Kent with buying offices in London, Surrey, Devon, and Hiroshima, Japan, the company now has over 250,000 items in stock and sells worldwide. After 38 years in business, the founding trio remains united.
