About Avanti West Coast

Avanti West Coast is a British train operating company running services on the West Coast Main Line, connecting London Euston with Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and other destinations. Owned by FirstGroup (70%) and Trenitalia (30%), Avanti operates over 2,000 trains weekly serving 34.9 million passenger journeys annually. The company introduced new Hitachi Class 805 and 807 trains in 2024-25, replacing the Super Voyager fleet. In December 2024, it was announced Avanti will be nationalised and absorbed into Great British Railways by October 2027.
