4th Utility is a UK alternative broadband network founded in 2017 that offers full fibre internet (FTTP) through the CityFibre network, independent of Openreach. Available to around 3.5 million UK homes, they believe broadband should be the 4th utility alongside water, gas and electricity.
The service offers a large selection of full fibre packages with speeds from modest entry-level options up to ultrafast 2Gbps+ connections. All plans feature unlimited data caps and symmetrical upload/download speeds, with flexible contract options including 24-month, 12-month and rolling 30-day plans.
Their Social Tariff provides affordable connectivity at £13.99 monthly for 30Mb speeds on a rolling contract, available to claimants of Universal Credit, Income Support, JSA, ESA or Pension Credit.
