Burns Pet Nutrition is an award-winning UK pet food brand founded in 1993 by Veterinary Surgeon John Burns, who pioneered the natural pet food movement in Britain. Burns became the first UK business to bring chemical-free pet food to market, discovering that Vitamin E and rosemary oil could naturally preserve food without the antioxidising chemicals previously used throughout the industry.

Every recipe has been developed by John Burns himself, with products suited to sensitive pets with allergies and intolerances. Wherever possible, Burns uses organic brown rice and free-range meat sourced locally in Wales, with some ingredients coming from their very own farm. All products are manufactured at their Burry Port factory.

The brand's commitment to excellence has earned significant recognition—in 2024, Burns was voted the UK consumer choice for dog food by WHICH?, and in 2022, founder John Burns was awarded an MBE for his impact on pet nutrition and charity work in West Wales.

Burns is more than a pet food company. They became the first UK pet food business to pay the real Living Wage, and through the Burns Pet Nutrition Foundation, they donate 25% of profits to charity, improving the lives of people and pets across the UK.
