The Sleep People

The Sleep People was established in 2014 through the merger of two pioneering companies, quickly becoming a prominent player in the UK spring mattress market. The company manufactures mattresses from their production facility in West Yorkshire, delivering handmade products direct to customers' doors. The origins started earlier when Damian entered the bedding industry in 2009 with his Starlight Beds brand, focusing on the contract market and hospitality industry. In 2011, Tim founded Extreme Comfort, spotting a gap in the internet market for value mattresses delivered direct to homes. Tim and Damian combined their expertise to create a company offering quality products with speedy delivery - allowing customers to receive made-to-order mattresses within days rather than the industry standard of up to two weeks. Both brands - Starlight Beds and Extreme Comfort - continue under The Sleep People umbrella. In late 2015, they extended into the premium sector with Hargreave and Flynn, providing premium pocket spring hand-stitched mattresses. In 2022, recognising market demand for quality foam products, they launched The Foam People brand. The Sleep People is a member of the National Bed Federation and has sold over 2 million mattresses across more than 10 years of trading. The company now employs over 100 staff and offers around 600 sleep products. By manufacturing and selling direct, they cut out the middleman to offer factory prices, making quality sleep accessible to more customers. Their range includes memory foam, pocket sprung, and hybrid designs.
