Venchi is an Italian chocolate and gelato company founded in 1878 when 20-year-old Silviano Venchi spent all his savings on two bronze cauldrons and started experimenting in a small shop in Vanchiglia, Turin. Growing up in the birthplace of gianduja - the sweet blend of dark chocolate and Piedmontese hazelnut - Venchi began his career at 16 as an assistant in a confectioner's workshop. His experiments led to Nougatine, a sweet with chopped, caramelised hazelnuts coated in extra-dark chocolate. Becoming known as the most elegant chocolate shop in Piedmont and Purveyor to the Royal Household, Venchi faced challenges but was revitalised in 1998 under CEO Daniele Ferrero. Today with over 350 chocolate recipes and 90 gelato flavours across 70 countries.
