Bright red-berries follow flowering that are much loved by birds. Awarded an RHS AGM and a place on the RHS’s list of Plant for Pollinators, Thompson & Morgan Viburnum ‘Compactum’ is highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects. Choose a position in full sun or partial shade when growing Thompson & Morgan Viburnum ‘Compactum’ and plant in any moist, well-drained soil. Viburnum will tolerate exposed and coastal areas quite successfully too. Thompson & Morgan Viburnum ‘Compactum’ requires minimal pruning, only removal of any dead or damaged growth and trimming to fit the available space. This is best undertaken in spring. Viburnum will tolerate a harder, regenerate prune if they become poorly shaped after a few years.
