Daikon Radish 'Misato Rose Flesh’ will spice up your summer salads with its peppery taste. Commonly known as ‘watermelon radish’, this distinctive and attractive variety has a unique appearance, with creamy-white to pale green outer skin and bright purple-pink flesh. Ideal in salads and stir fries or as a pretty bi-coloured garnish, these flavoursome radishes have a wonderful crisp bite. Companion planting: try growing radishes with mint to deter flea beetles, which chew irregular holes in the leaves. Height: up to 45cm. Spread: up to 30cm.Direct sow radish seeds from June to July outdoors. Grow in a well prepared fertile, moist, free draining seedbed in full sun or semi shade. Sow radish seeds thinly at a depth of 1cm (½") in drills 15cm (6") apart. When large enough to handle, thin out the seedlings within each row to 2.5cm (1") apart.
