More commonly known as Queen Anne’s Lace, Daucus carota creates a relaxed, hazy look in borders with its upright stems and ferny foliage, which provide fabulous texture and movement. Try combining Daucus carota with late-summer perennials or wildflowers for a natural-looking style. Delicate white umbels of flowers create a beautiful frothy effect at the back of borders, attracting bees and other pollinators from June to September. After flowering, the seed heads create frosty silhouettes if left standing over winter. The blooms make excellent cut flowers for the home too.
