Grow your own masses of bright, single daisy flowers in a palette of pretty pink colours. Pyrethrum 'T&M Single Mixed' are popular plants for the border, providing masses of fabulous flowers at a time when the last of the spring blooms have faded and before the summer types emerge. These lovely long-stemmed flowers make excellent cut flowers for the home too. Height: 90cm. Spread: 45cm. Sow on the surface of the compost, covering the seed with a light layer of vermiculite, from late winter to spring in John Innes Seed Compost. Make sure that the compost is moist but not wet and seal in a polythene bag until after germination which usually takes 30-60 days at 13-15C (55-60F). Do not exclude light which is beneficial to germination. Transplant when large enough to handle into 7.5cm (3in) pots. Later plant out 40-45cm (16-18in) apart into ordinary soil in full sun.
