Lonicera Honeysuckle Purpusil Winter Beauty is a hardy evergreen shrub, that produces twining stems with two-lipped flowers in a delicate shade of white with a strong fragrance. This plant will flower from winter into early spring and follows with red or black berries. A strong growing rounded shrub that will produce ovate leaves, perfect for growing up a fence or trellis. Plant honeysuckle against a suitable, sturdy support such as trellis or strong wires attached to walls and pergolas, in fertile, moist, free draining soil. Poor soils can be improved by adding plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost. Choose a position in sun or semi-shade. When growing honeysuckle in patio containers, use soil-based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Feed and water lonicera regularly throughout the growing season until they are fully established. Check young shoot tips regularly as honeysuckle plants are susceptible to aphid damage, particularly when grown in full sun.
