Hypoestes phyllostachya is better known as the Polka Dot plant and is grown for its colourful spotty foliage. This variety has pretty pink foliage that’s dotted and splashed with dark olive green, making a fabulous colour contrast. Easy to grow on a bright windowsill, this tropical foliage plant has a spreading, bushy habit and makes a well-behaved house plant. For the best leaf colour, position it in bright light, with protection from scorching hot sun. Height and spread: 30cm (12"). Grow Hypoestes in bright, filtered light, with protection from scorching sun. Low light levels can cause the foliage to revert to green so filtered light from a south or west facing window is preferable.
