Alternatively grow horseradish in large containers to restrict its vigorous growth. Use a good quality compost such as John Innes No. 2 and position in full sun.Horseradish requires little attention but will appreciate watering during particularly dry periods. Harvest the roots in autumn by lifting the entire root with a garden fork. Horseradish may be stored in a paper bag in the fridge for up to a week after harvesting.
