Geranium Hardy Double Plenum Violaceum is reliable variety that makes a beautiful ground cover when planted in groups. Perfect for planting in garden borders were its loose spreading habit and finely cut leaves will spill over the edge perfect for softening path edges. This variety requires little maintenance but produces a spectacular display of violet double flowers that rise above the lacy foliage in early summer. Height: 60cm (24”). Spread: 45cm (18”). Plant hardy geraniums in a sunny or shaded position on any well drained soil. Water regularly until fully established. Remove old foliage and faded flower stems throughout the growing season to promote continuous fresh growth. In autumn, cut the foliage back completely. Apply a mulch of well-rotted manure to the base of the plant in spring. Lift and divide hardy geranium plants every third year to maintain their vigour.
