Choisya ‘Aztec Gold’ is a subtle green-gold colour, taking on tones of lime green when planted in shaded areas. Flowering in spring and then again in late summer, with fragrant white blooms against the narrow, gently aromatic foliage, this Mexican Orange Blossom provides plenty of year round interest. Choisya require very little maintenance, are particularly tolerant and even cope well in coastal conditions. Robust and easy to care for - the perfect choice for sunny borders and hedges. Choose a position in full sun with shelter from strong winds, and plant in any well drained soil. Choisya ‘Aztec Gold’ will tolerate partial shade, however the foliage will be less golden if grown in these conditions. Alternatively, grow Choisya in containers using a loam-based compost. Water regularly throughout the growing season until well established. Mexican Orange Blossom benefits from a trim each year to keep it neat and tidy, but otherwise requires very little attention. Trim or lightly cut back shoots to a healthy pair of buds after flowering, and apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or garden-compost around the base of the plant in spring.
