Common Quaking Grass (Briza media) is a hardy perennial, clump-forming, upright ornamental grass with narrow, blue-green leaves. From late spring, upright stems bear nodding or ‘quaking’, heart-shaped green flowerheads, which age to a buff colour. One of the prettiest wild grasses to grow, Briza media is best grown in groups for maximum impact and makes a great backdrop for colourful flowers in garden borders or as part of a prairie planting scheme. The cut flowers are great for displays around the home and can also be dried. Height: 100cm. Spread: 50cm. Easy to grow in most well-drained soils in a sunny position.
