Globe Thistle is a brilliant border perennial, whose spherical heads of electric-blue blooms are held on slender stems over silvery, thistle-like foliage. Always buzzing with bees, Echinops ritro subsp. ruthenicus is hardy and drought tolerant once established - a reliable choice for hot, sunny herbaceous borders. The flowers make marvellous cut flowers, which can be dried for everlasting displays.
