Beetroot Chioggia is a sun loving traditional Italian globe shaped beetroot which when sliced showcases a beautiful formation of rings. A popular variety which has a sweet taste and is suitable for use in salads or as a hot roasted vegetable. For best garden performance sow seed little and often to ensure to good crops over several months from end of June onwards.Direct sow beetroot seeds outdoors from March to July in a weed free, sunny position in fertile, light, well drained soil. Sow beetroot seeds thinly in shallow drills at a depth of 3cm (1") and 30cm (12") apart. Germination will usually take 12 to 24 days.
