This Japanese Maple boasts glorious autumn colour and Acer Shirasawanum ‘Moonrise’ will make a stunning addition to any garden. Its foliage slowly turns from a pale green in the summer to rich red and cerise in the autumn. For added interest, red, winged seedpods develop and ripen in the autumn too. ‘Moonrise’ is a deciduous tree or shrub that’s perfect for Japanese garden planting schemes or to use as a focal point or feature plant. Grow acer trees in any moist, fertile, well-drained soil in sun or dappled shade, with shelter from strong winds which can scorch the finely cut leaves.
