The golden jackal is a discreet animal whose territory extends from central, eastern and southern Europe to Asia via North Africa. It is able to survive for several days, without eating or drinking, in an arid and desert environment. This animal which is closer to the grey wolf or coyote than other jackal species, lives in packs and is often accompanied by a female and their cubs.
