What is Motusol Max 2.32% w/w Diclofenac Gel 100g? Diclofenac Diethylamine Gel contains the active substance diclofenac which belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). For adults and adolescents aged 14 years and over For the short-term local, symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain in acute strains, sprains or contusions following blunt trauma. The active substance is diclofenac. 1g contains 23.2 mg diclofenac diethylamine corresponding to 20 mg diclofenac sodium. What are the other ingredients? The other ingredients are isopropyl alcohol, propylene glycol (E1520), cocoyl caprylocaprate, liquid paraffin, carbomer, macrogol cetostearyl ether, diethylamine, oleic acid (E570), butylhydroxytoluene (E321), fragrance (containing citronellol, geraniol, benzyl alcohol (E1519), linalool, limonene, citral, farnesol, coumarin, eugenol), purified water. Ingredients Usage How to use Motusol Max 2.32% w/w Diclofenac Gel 100g Motusol Max 2.32% w/w Diclofenac Gel 100g is for use only on your skin. Apply the gel to the affected parts of the body thinly and rub gently into the skin. Unless the hands are the site being treated, wash your hands after rubbing in the gel. Duration of treatment The duration of use depends on the symptoms and the underlying disease. Motusol Max 2.32% w/w Diclofenac Gel 100g should not be used longer than 1 week without medical advice. If symptoms worsen or do not improve after 3 – 5 days a doctor should be consulted. If you use more Motusol Max 2.32% w/w Diclofenac Gel 100g than you should an overdose is unlikely to happen if you use more Motusol Max 2.32% w/w Diclofenac Gel 100g than you should, because the absorption into the blood stream is low when used on the skin. If the recommended dose is significantly exceeded when used on the skin, the gel should be removed and washed off with water. If you accidentally swallow this medicine, contact your doctor immediately. If you forget to use Motusol Max 2.32% w/w Diclofenac Gel 100g Do not use a double dose to make up for a forgotten application. Usage Warnings Precautions to consider before using Motusol Max 2.32% w/w Diclofenac Gel 100g Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist have told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Adults and adolescents 14 years and over should use Diclofenac Diethylamine Gel 2 times a day (preferably morning and evening). Depending on the size of the affected site, apply a cherry to walnut-sized quantity, corresponding to 1-4 g of gel. The maximum daily dose is 8 g of gel. Elderly patients do not require special dose adjustment. However, pay attention to side effects and consult a doctor or pharmacist if necessary. Impaired kidney or liver function does not require dose reduction. Do not use this medicine in children and adolescents under 14 years of age. Before first use: Unscrew the cap from the tube. To open the safety seal, reverse the cap and engage it with the nozzle. Avoid using scissors or sharp objects. Twist and remove the plastic seal. Do not use if the seal is broken.
