The Faithfull Soft Grip Bevel Edge Chisel in 13mm (1/2in) is one of the most commonly used sizes for general woodworking and joinery tasks. This blade width is particularly well-suited for cutting standard-sized mortises, hinge recesses, and general paring work, making it an essential tool for any woodworker's kit. Manufactured from drop-forged chrome vanadium steel, the blade is hardened and tempered to exacting standards to ensure the cutting edge remains sharper for longer. The bevelled edge design makes this chisel ideal for cutting into tight corners and for use on fine work. The handle features an anti-slip, soft grip coating for added user comfort during extended use, and is fitted with a steel striking cap that provides added protection when used with a mallet or an occasional hammer blow. The blade is ground to an angle of 25° which increases to 30° at the leading edge for optimal cutting performance. For complete accuracy when sharpening, use a honing guide (FAIHG) and an oil, diamond or whetstone.
