Created by perfumer-creator Jean-Michel Duriez, the Carlotha Ray fragrances have the same signature olfactory footprint, a connecting thread through the collection. Because Carlotha Ray designs are exclusively vegan, the perfumer took the same approach with the perfumes, creating an accord reminiscent of the scent of leather but made exclusively with vegetal notes. "Cuir de Fleur" (or flower leather in English) combines Mat's powerful, herbaceous facets with Oakmoss, the essence of Juniper and Osmanthusa, a Chinese flower with a sweet, apricot fragrance and a base note elegantly reminiscent of leather. Carlotha Ray perfumes are crafted with vegan raw materials and responsibly sourced ingredients, and contain up to 20% upcycled ingredients and 90% natural-origin ingredients. They can be worn alone or layered together like a jewel all day long. Inspiration Poire & Santal Blanc evokes a leisurely afternoon in the library amidst books, with a basket of crisp pears sitting next to a vase of delicate white flowers, while a fresh and captivating scent of pink berries wafts in from the kitchen. From India or New Caledonia, a soothing sandalwood figurine on the desk and through a slightly ajar window, the fragrance of the garden returns to us, the oak moss and other ancient lichens on the trees, almost appearing leathery, much like the armchair that embraces this profound and intense reading moment.
