Versatile jacket and mid-layering piece The Heiko's outer fabric and inner liner are made from a super light and soft polyester fabric. This fabric forms a fully windproof sandwich around the insulation (inedible though), trapping vital body heat when you stop moving or the wind picks up. We've used PrimaLoft Silver, for its excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. This highly compressible fill allows the Heiko to pack away into its own chest pocket (complete with hang loop for clipping to climbing harnesses). PrimaLoft is water resistant too, repelling water and keeping its insulating ability even when wet. Combined with the fast-drying fabric (treated with a PFC-free DWR), this makes the Heiko ideal for changeable conditions every other day in the British Isles, then! Not just a versatile outer jacket, the Heiko can also double up as a super warm midlayer in colder temperatures.
