ClassBento is a creative workshop marketplace founded in 2016 by British-born John Tabari and Australian Iain Wang while working together at a high-growth tech startup. Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Ikigai - finding joy through purpose - the name honours their first teacher, Japanese florist Setsuko. Triggered by John losing his grandmother to dementia, ClassBento's mission is empowering local artists while promoting better mental wellbeing. Since 2016, they've helped thousands of artisans run workshops for over one million people, now offering 13,000+ creative classes and kits. Donating to Mental Health UK with every paid booking, they've collected over £40,000 so far. Classes include cooking, pottery, arts, crafts, and more.
