Mitre

Mitre was founded in 1817 when Benjamin Crook opened his tannery in Huddersfield, England. Named after the ceremonial headdress worn by bishops, the company has grown to become one of the world's leading sports equipment manufacturers.

In 1966, Mitre became the official ball supplier to the English Football Association—for forty years, the FA Cup Final was played with a Mitre ball. They supplied Premier League match balls in the 1990s and EFL balls for over 40 years. They also supplied the 1987 Rugby World Cup.
