Titleist is golf's leading performance equipment brand, born in 1932 when Phil Young, a rubber company owner and dedicated golfer, x-rayed a golf ball and discovered its core was off-centre after missing a well-stroked putt. With Fred Bommer, they set out to develop the highest quality golf ball in the world. The Titleist golf ball debuted in 1935, and by 1949 became the most used ball at the U.S. Open – a position it has held ever since. Part of Acushnet Company (founded 1910), Titleist is the unequivocal #1 ball in golf for over 70 years. The brand also owns FootJoy, Scotty Cameron, and Vokey, earning trust from tour professionals to dedicated golfers worldwide.
