Vans is an American footwear and apparel brand founded in Anaheim, California in 1966 by Paul Van Doren and partners. Originally called 'The Van Doren Rubber Company', the brand pioneered made-to-order shoes and became the footwear of choice for California skateboarders in the 1970s. The iconic Vans Sidestripe was added in 1977, and the brand's 'Off The Wall' slogan became synonymous with skateboarding culture. Now owned by VF Corporation since 2004, Vans sponsors elite athletes and events including the Warped Tour, while remaining true to its skateboarding, surfing, and creative culture heritage.
