AEG is a legendary German appliance brand founded in 1883 by engineer Emil Rathenau as 'Deutsche Edison-Gesellschaft'. In 1907, visionary architect Peter Behrens became Artistic Consultant, establishing the design philosophy 'Perfekt in Form und Funktion' and founding modern industrial design. After financial difficulties in the 1980s, AEG's household appliances division was sold to Swedish multinational Electrolux in 1994, relaunched as AEG Electrolux in 2005. Today, AEG is one of Electrolux Group's most important brands, positioned as a premium alternative competing with Bosch in the upper-mid market. AEG products include washing machines, dishwashers, ovens, fridges, and cooking appliances.
