Tonies is an innovative children's audio system founded by fathers Patric Faßbender and Marcus Stahl, who noticed a gap in the market for an audio system designed especially for children. The Toniebox, a padded cube audio player, launched in Europe in 2016 and immediately won the Red Dot Design Award, followed by the German Design Award and iF Product Design Award in 2017. Audio playback starts when a figurine (Tonie) is placed on the box; when removed, playback pauses. The cube's ears serve as volume controls with 400 hours of storage capacity. Listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in 2021, Tonies now operates across Germany, UK, USA, and France, inspiring imagination through screen-free storytelling.
