Smith & Sinclair was co-founded by Melanie Goldsmith and Emile Bernard in 2014. The founders originally set out to host adult board game date nights for people looking for love, but noticed crowds were falling for their hand-crafted, alcohol-infused confectionery instead. Former chef Emile Bernard and ex-PR Melanie Goldsmith came up with the idea as a way to let people experience alcohol in new and different ways. Emile, as a chef, had always experimented with jelly, so they created the 'edible cocktail gummy' - grown-up pick'n'mix. Following the demand at their dating events, they set up shop in Berwick Street Market selling their alcoholic cocktail gummies. The London-based start-up specialises in punchy alcoholic cocktail gummies and other boozy confections. Since then, Smith & Sinclair has expanded to sell products in retailers including Harvey Nichols, John Lewis, Amazon, Sainsbury's, Scribbler and Oliver Bonas. The brand has also received backing from US investors to support expansion. Smith & Sinclair's products represent a new category of confectionery - adult sweets that deliver genuine cocktail flavours in gummy form. It's an innovative approach to both alcohol and confectionery.
