Ulla Popken is a German plus-size fashion retailer with roots dating back to 1880 when Johann Popken founded a textile company in Hamelin. In 1968, Friedrich and Ulla Popken opened their first specialty maternity shop in Oldenburg, Germany, later noticing that women continued visiting after giving birth – leading them to start offering fashion from size 42 onwards. Now headquartered in Rastede, Ulla Popken operates over 320 stores across Europe and the US, with an online store launched in 1999. Under the Popken Fashion Group umbrella (created in 2012), alongside Gina Laura, JP1880, and Studio Untold, Ulla Popken stands for beautiful, contemporary plus-size fashion with quality, social responsibility, and sustainable resource management.
