MOTHER was founded in 2010 in Los Angeles by Lela Becker and Tim Kaeding. MOTHER's first collection of vintage-inspired jeans disrupted the denim landscape - previously a sea of black skinnies - and created an entirely new space in the market. The name MOTHER plays off the idea of duality - it can be nurturing or a cuss. It evokes unconditional love and teenage rebellion all at the same time. This playful contradiction runs through everything the brand does, from their distinctive washes to their "Mother Loves You" motto. Famous for its irreverent disposition, model cult following, and super-soft fabrics, MOTHER has become known for keeping an indie spirit while offering fits and washes that appeal to a wide range of people. Everything is made in LA, maintaining the local craftsmanship that sets the brand apart.
