After a trip to Hong Kong revealed the potential of Far East manufacturing, French Connection was born, combining quality production with contemporary British design.
The brand gained worldwide recognition in 1997 with its controversial FCUK (French Connection United Kingdom) branding, which began after Trevor Beattie spotted "FCHK" on an internal memo for French Connection Hong Kong. The brand has since become an icon of accessible British fashion.
In 2021, French Connection was acquired by MIP Holdings Ltd for £29 million, marking founder Stephen Marks's retirement after building a globally recognised fashion empire with operations in London, New York, Düsseldorf, Hong Kong and Toronto.
