About Philip Kingsley

Philip Kingsley founded his first trichology clinic in London in 1957 after qualifying as a trichologist in 1953. Unable to afford medical school, he started sweeping floors at his uncle's Bethnal Green salon at 16 and developed a passion for hair health. He was the first to take a holistic approach to hair and scalp health, studying diet, stress and genetics. Creator of Elasticizer (the world's first pre-shampoo conditioner) originally for Audrey Hepburn. The retail line launched in 1998 with clinics in Mayfair and New York's Fifth Avenue.
