BabyBjörn is a Swedish family-owned company specialising in baby products, founded in 1961 by Björn Jakobson. In 1960, Björn was struck by an idea while in the United States, and upon returning to Sweden, created a bouncing cradle with his sister-in-law Elsa Jakobson. They sold their first baby bouncer in 1961. Today best known for its baby carriers (first produced in 1973), BabyBjörn's product range includes bouncers, travel cots, sleep accessories, and bath and kitchen products. With headquarters in Solna, a logistics centre in Småland, and offices worldwide, the company operates in 55 markets. Björn Jakobson received His Majesty The King's Medal in 2012 for significant contributions to Swedish industry.
